Show, Comedy Central. Chieng is the creator and the star of the sitcom Ronny
Chieng International Student. It debuted on ABC Australia and Comedy Central
Asia in 2017. Chieng was born to a Malaysian Chinese couple in Johor Bahru
(Malaysia). Chieng was raised in Singapore and the United States, living in
Manchester, New Hampshire from 1989 until 1994. Chieng was a performer at a
comedy festival that took place in Melbourne, Australia in 2013 together with
Trevor Noah. Chieng was asked to audition for The Daily Show's correspondent
job two years after. He was named among the top 10 Comics to follow by Variety
in July 2016. In October of 2016, Chieng appeared as a guest on The Daily Show
to discuss his response to an interview with Jesse Watts on a Fox News segment
that many considered racist. Chieng offers a scathing critique of the program
on the network that is conservative. He also visited NewYork City's Chinatown
where Watters joked about the residents. The video went viral and received

citizenship or permanent residence in Australia despite having lived in
Australia for ten years. Chieng made the joke that he was negative towards dogs

percent confident about dogs" in an interview.
